Missing my wife Janet of 42 years. Janet passed away in December 2017 and it has taken this long for me to share that with you. She was a woodworker, worked lathing pens, many for the soldiers overseas, thru Freedom Pens. She was my shop buddy also. Always in the shop helping and watching me make stuff. It has been 4 months since I have been able to get back to the shop without her. Those of you who have lost a love mate know what I am talking about. We never really had too much except each other and our boys. Now it’s just me, trying to deal with the grieving. We are both Christians, and now she is in Heaven with her Savior. Someday soon I will be there too. Can’t wait. How about you?

What I made in the shop is only some of the pens were old orders that I finished up, these here are ones that have not gone out yet or left overs. Had about 20. The two hair forks are for orders that were placed back in November. Both customers wanted to hang in there with me. All the stuff made here was with Rutland wood products which has burnt down to the ground. Some others are making these laminated woods, but not as well as Rutland did. The rainbow and neon green most likely will never be made again.
Value your loved ones, someday they will be gone. Every marriage starts with joy, and usually ends in sorrow. Love the one you are with, my friends. And make sure you have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, please.

-Mike

You have my sincere sympathy, I remember when my Dad passed away 5 years ago that sometimes I could just forget for a short period of time while having a chisel or other tool in my hand.

I am so sorry to read about the loss of your wife. She sounds like an amazing woman – and an amazing relationship you had with her. Cherish every moment we have with our loved ones as they won’t be forever- until someday when you cross that bridge, too, – and then you will be together forever.

Sorry for our loss. But as believers our hope is not in things of this earth. Will be praying for you.

It really makes me sad to hear. I know it’s something we all have to face at one time or another and it can really derail things for a long time.

I hope you stay strong and continue to work through this.

Mike, GOD bless you man. HE already has as evidenced by your comments. Janet is waiting for you as she basks in the love of Jesus Christ in paradise. In the meantime use your skills developed alongside your sweetheart to pass your time and continue to evangelize to others about the grace of our Savior. HE will carry you until HE brings you home to HIMSELF and Janet.

Prayers are with you brother.

We are all in your corner brother.
I have a lot of questions that I hope the Lord will answer for me some day.
Until then, we just have to keep moving forward.
You are in our prayers Mike.

So sorry for you loss Mike,

Your wife sounds like she was truly a Proverbs 31 woman… and you were blessed to have her so many years… and even more so for your hope of eternity in Christ.

Saying a prayer for you and your boys… that you might know the peace that transcends all understanding as you process the tears of joy for what you had and tears of sorrow for what you have (temporarily) lost.

Grace and peace,

Mainiac Matt
