September, 2010—Two more boxes made out of scraps, glued up into a block. The smaller box is made from the core of the large box. I made these boxes with the band saw. The larger box has a curved top, with a lid that is flat on the bottom. All four sides are a radius cut. And the bottom has been cut out with semi-circles in the X and Y directions, to make “feet” for the box.

The smaller box has a rounded top, and the bottom of the lid follows that contour. I think this gives the box some extra interest. The smaller box fits nicely inside the larger box. Both boxes are finished with tung oil.
