Small Crosscut Saw

The second of the small crosscut saws that I have made.
Materials:
Blade – Cabinet Scraper 60mm x 150mm 0.6mm thick
Handle – Jarrah
Bolts – Brass saw nuts purchased locally
Spine – Aluminium extrusion lying about.

Had the teeth cut at 14tpi at a local sharpening facility, the blade is held in place with aluminium packing strips jammed in the U shape extrusion, blade was drilled with vanadium drill bits (only thing that can cut spring steel). Handle was shaped with various rasps and sanded smooth.. Cuts effortlessly…

Well done. Making your own sounds fun. What does it cost to ahve a shop cut that for you? I have no idea is why I ask. Might have to make one. Thx

Very nicely done. Looks like it would be a very handy size to have at the bench. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet. Never heard of anyone making their own before.

And those vanadium drill bits sound cool. I love the name.
