Kerfmafe – handydandy
Ok, I think it’s time to say: ‘That’s it!’.

Yes, I could not resist, I had to think some more on this… And SPalm wrote the other day on a post ‘handy dandy’, this kept coming back in my mind, since the first I made was dandy, but not really handy…

So this one are more pocket size (don’t know if that’s a good thing), and I decided to accept that it had a moving part sticking out (to make it smaller), and that the spur was now on the moving part (so the measure gap would not become to small), even this was some of the reasons I made the first one… So where are your logic Mad-F?

Enough about that, it’s really a nice little tool, and I decided to call it after SPalm ‘handydandy’, and me Kerfmafe

[At the last picture, you can see there is a replica of the first one I made in the background… This one are going to go by airmail to my brother in South Africa so he have time to make a living for his sweet little family, and were the reason why I went back to the workshop, to make kerfmakers instead of finishing those dovetails, the pictures are using as background…]

I made a Blog on how to use a kerfmaker, hope it can be useful to those of you who are full of questions on this, and the Kerfmaker - Brass'n wood! post.

You might be interested in my Height-, length gauge, when you have to set the table saw depth for the cut.

Hope it can be to some inspiration,

Best thoughts and thank you to all here who inspire me,

MaFe

I’m glad I didn’t say something obscene, or who knows what this thingy would be called :-)

I do like it. It’s a dandy.

Yoh, yoh! They are beautiful. I can’t wait. Well, that plane is going to be busy next week….

I was about to say I am missing the pipe, but then I saw it in the 3rd picture!

May your grease stay slippery

Diggerjacks, that was sweet thank you!
BC, no we can not be helped, it’s too late, so we better just enjoy the ride.
Steve!!! Is it handy also? Otherwise I have to make one more, please stop me!
Ian, wauuu.
PaBull, I like this! KeMaFe handydandy, this will happen in 10 minutes (We have to keep Steve happy).
TheDane, I smile big time! Thats really a compliment.
Flemming, It’s exactly what Caroline say when she gets really angry at me… Lol
Hi brother, you have to stop making me curious, it’s starting to work now… Ohhh yes the pipe are there. The last you wrote sounds like a slogan for a gay space movie! (Not that I mind gays, just so there are no misunderstandings here on LJ).
Best thoughts and thank you all for the sweet words, how can I ever stop to be inspired with such wonderful people arround,

Sorry man, I am referring to your greaseboxes and slippery plane soles! Gay space movie? Can’t imagine that. Could be a blockbuster…

Div,
I knew what you ment, was just joking.
Here are a view of my worktable while making your Kerfmaker, just so you can see the pipe were there, while making it.

(Yes I know that router setup are quite dangerous, but I did not have the time to complete my routertable yet).
And yes I’m a slave to order!
Best thoughts your greasy brother,

if i am paying attention to all your blogs

seems to me
everything you make
has a ‘pocket sized’ one too

i can barely keep my pants up
when they are empty

you must look like ‘transformer man’
in those pants
with all your tools in them

I like the new sleeker version …. but put a beeper on it so you can locate it under the pile of shavings. Painting it bright orange would be another option, but it is too nice looking for that. Well done Mafe.
