I redid our laundry room. The woods are Birch plywood, solid birch and walnut. I took the ceiling down a couple years ago to redo the plumbing for the bathroom above this room. I wish I would have taken a before photo, the setup was awful. It had a small shower were the floor to ceiling cupboard is and a very small sink with a little storage underneath were the cloths rack now is, the washer and dryer are in the same place, you could hardly get in to wash your hands and no one ever took a showers in since we moved in 4 years ago.

I pretty much gutted it, capped the plumbing for the old sink, redid the plumbing for the new sink, re-did the lighting, dry walled, put in new tile floor and build the cabinets. The countertop over the washer/dryer is solid ¾ walnut over ¾ plywood (I can stand on it) it is only attached to 2 slotted screws to allow for movement. The mirror frame is more solid walnut and I turned the knobs and towel rack. I really like the folding cloths rack that we got from Lee Valley, the hinges are Blum from Lee Valley also. Thanks for looking.

Your laundry room looks better than my bedroom.

Good work.

Looks Great! The three types of wood compliment each other very nicely.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Ken – you’re right it would look better to get rid of the cheap casing around the window and redo it to match. 8iowa – she already has, the office is next.
