Utensil and Knife Block Drawer Divider

I built this knife block and divider system for my drawer out of teak. It is a pretty simple design and I was able to successfully get all my knives and cutlery in one drawer. I still need to add some smaller blocks of teak near the knife handles to keep them from sliding back and forth as I open and close the drawer.

Questions, critiques, and comments are welcome!

I really like this. I like the safety aspect with the knives especially. I’ve been thinking about doing something like this for a while. Thanks for posting, it looks really great. Just out of curiosity, did you design those cabinets?

Thanks Richard!

Yeah I designed and built the whole kitchen myself. I just finished up with the whole project a few weeks ago so I am going to post it here in a few days.

Nicely done, if I wanted to do something similar to this but wanted an alternative to teak what would you recommend?

Honestly whatever wood you think would look good for your taste. The wood is finished with General Finished Polycrylic so it is sealed. I just went with teak since I liked the look

Excellent, looks great. I’ve been trying to get LOML to give me her ideas on what goes where. I think I’ll end up just doing something, because anything with separation beats what we currently have.

Thanks for sharing, it gives me something to show her, AGAIN.
