I started making these in walnut and found that some of the pen blanks I can obtain make for great fly fishing magnetic latches. For those that don’t know what this is, see my video.
I imagine there are myriad uses for them.

Hi Greg.

Fantastic idea! If you embed a magnet in the handle of a tool (like a screw driver) and hang one of these items from your belt, you’d have a handy way to keep it right where needed when needed.

As a flyflinger, I find this most interesting! Where did you get the clips? What did you use to finish the wood? Great idea and useful item! As others mentioned, there are a host of uses for similar tools. I thought of the chuck key for a drill press- attach it to the metal somewhere and never misplace the chuck key.
