Here is another cooler box I just finished for a friend. It is all cedar material with pocket hole construction. I used a 52 quart cooler for the inside. It is finished off with two coats of urethane. Has a drain valve as well as a bottle opener.

Very beautiful, wood so much nicer than the plastic.

Excellent ! There have been times when I wanted to build one, and after looking at this one I may just do it. You have a few designs in yours that I may have to borrow, ( copy / steal ), LOL. The finish with this type of wood really sets it off. Great job. Thanks

very nice! can you elaborate on how you plumbed the drain valve into the cooler itself?

Hi on plumbing the drain for the cooler box. I unscrew and remove the existing drain then use a 1/2” silcock for the valve and for me the 1/2”x2 1/2” pipe that is threaded on both ends works great. on the inside I use a 1/2” plastic insulating bushing to secure it inside the cooler. When I put it together I use tub and tile caulk to keep it from leaking hope that helped. Thanks for checking out my project
