This gun rack is made out of pine with a Dark Walnut stain, it cost about $20 to make Vs the $60 ones at the store. It holds 4 guns with out scopes and the bottom is a shelf that holds boxes of shot gun shells and rifle ammunition very well. I thought about making a drawer like I did on my bow rack but felt I would have more space wid the shelf and Im glad I did it that way. Next will be to make a Locking Gun Rack like this.

I grew up with rifle racks like that on our walls. My brother and I had one in our bedroom throughout Jr High and High School, my dad had two and there was one in our living room. We knew what we could and could not do with our guns and we also knew that our dad would kick our asses if we did anything wrong with them.

Nice work, its good to see a traditional rifle rack for a change rather then a gun safe. Thanks for posting that.

I also grew up with a gun rack like this in the house. Now they are all keep in a gun cabinet. Glad to see the old way is still alive and well.

Nice Gun Rack! Take those gun socks off the guns, so we can take our pick-LOL-then you wont have to build another with the locking feature! I also grew up with several gun racks in the house. There were 3 of us children in the home at the time and all were about 18 months apart. We may have taken cookies with out asking from time to time, but know one ever played with the fire arms we too knew, what a fatal mistake it would have been-not from the fire arm either! I raised four boys with the same gun racks in the house and there was never an accident either. Locks on tools simply make them inoperable.Display them well as long as we can-they are going to continue to try and take them from us-especially now adays.
