Made this for my youngest daughter’s 21st birthday. She likes light wood, and blue! The box is red oak, and the handles are wenge. It is finished with 2 coats of Waterlox and about 8 coats of spray on lacquer. I was at college for Parents Weekend and gave it to her a little early. There was some blue saphire jewelry in it too, which I’m sure helped.
The drawers are lined with flocking from Donjer.

This red oak is growing on me a lot. When I saw it in your garage unfinished I was not sold on the grain but it is tough to deny the solid results in this project. It turned out pretty darn sweet! I just hope those girls don’t ask for an ark, I’m pretty sure you’d do it for them.

She totally loves it – you can see it in her eyes. What a lucky girl!
