Had a storm in the neighborhood that blew down a maple. Got two separate bowls out of one of the logs. One of them had a crack in the handle so used a piece of apple to make a butterfly key inlay. Used flax oil again to keep it food safe.

Beautiful bowls

Great bowls! How do you make them? All by hand? Router? Drill out waste? Gouges? Share some of your secrets please. I make bowls on the lathe and have made a few spoons, would love to try a bowl this big.

I have made them with just a hatchet and knife but now I use an angle grinder with a couple different attachments. Makes it a lot quicker.
