Ok, I promise last posting tonight. A friend has two kids that have birthdays coming up and they have just got new bedroom sets that are quite large. After checking with mom I decided to make each of them a step stool and a hang rack. They are also getting a bag of paint and some brushes to decorate each as they see fit. I will get them back aftwards to put a clear coat on. All made out of pine, the hang racks are actually made out of my friends daughter’s old bed slats, so seems fitting I should give them back. The stool is mightly held with Kreg joints.
My daughter loved the stool when we gave her the same thing last year. Thats her in pic 4 painting the one she got.
Once again thanks for looking.

Thank heaven for little girls, as W.C.Fields said. I’m personally appreciative of nature that I only had sons; any daughters, I would’ve spoiled rotten, just like my wife. Your daughter getting to do that painting is a touching scene of father-daughter bonding that she will never forget. Good on you!

Always nice for a kid to have someplace to hang their stuff. :) Love the stools. Also- great reuse of the old bed slats!

Thanks All. Looking forward to giving them to the kids and seeing how they turn out.
Doug, lol no she got the stool last year for her birthday and was just mixing together all the paints. I just let her go for it, did a little touch up before sealing it but not much.
