My boys were in desperate need of some bookends. they store their books on top of their dresser and they have accumulated so many that they are just stacking them on each other. I turned the baseball bat on the lathe. The actual holding pieces are pine, 6 inches wide. Vertical piece is 8 inches and base is 7 inches in length. The top has a nice curve to it. Then the pine was stained golden oak to “match” the dresser. After that I applied 3 coats of poly by HVLP sprayer.
