Pen box for deer antler pens

I made this flip style box and engraved a deer head in it to use for my deer antler pens. The engraving was done using a CNC and I then filled in the engraving with coffee grounds, soaked them with CA glue and then sanded smooth.

That is gorgeous. Love the pen, but really love the whole idea you had for the box to tie it all together! Thanks for sharing!

Nice work! If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get the pen hardware? Looks like a bolt action.

Very Cool – I’d like to see a pic of the box closed. Did you come up with that idea for the pen box? I ask because I’ve never seen it before and it is rather ingenious.

The kit is the deer head bolt action from PSI. They also sell a flip style box like this but I just studied the design and figured I could make one like it using the woods of my choice.
