My take on a marble game

Here is a fun little marble game made for my nephew. There’s not much to it woodworking wise, but hopefully it inspires a little curiosity and bring a smile. Our kids loved it, and it’s another thing that will need a version two on my to do list. :)

Haha, thanks Boss. No rules except have fun :) Although my boys immediately started “races” to see which color would make it to the bottom first. You could turn it upside down on a table like an hour glass, or hold it and tip it side to side. The kids prefer the holding method.

The best kind of game…...you always win!

That’s a pretty sharp looking game, souichero. You did a nice job. Don’t you just love how kids can take some of the simplest things and have all kinds of fun with it. Ahhh, the innocence of the babes. We had three of ‘em. We lost one but we still have the other two, but they’re fully grown now. We don’t have any grand kids yet. I made different stuff for all three of them and I found out that one of the greatest things about woodworking is that you can make wonderful things for the people that you love.

That looks great, I know now why he loves it so. Well done.

What a wonderful project. Simple can be very elegant. Your game is very well made. It must be satisfying to see kids enjoying it!

Thanks for all of the kind words everyone. This was an idea taken from Jim actually (many thanks Jim), and it turned out to be something that I think he really liked. I found some springs that I want to try and make into another one that will shoot the marbles. Like those old “pinball” games you used to get in cereal boxes when you were a kid. I loved those things. Anyway, I hope to keep things simple though. I find it very rewarding to see the kids fill in the complexity with imagination.

Well, and to be honest I suppose it’s more than likely to stay up with my skill level, LOL. But hey, simple is good. :) And if the kids like it, then it’s worth every minute.

Anyway, thanks again everyone….... oh and woodtoyz, LOVE your vehicles! Very inspirational!
