Thanks for the memories. We made the whale on a clothespin note holder and a ship wheel lamp. The school actually let 15 seventh grade boys walk unsupervised about a mile to another school to use that shop. In my son’s shop class, everything is pre-cut and they get to glue and paint it. They do learn CNC, thats kinda cool.

Mine was an owl shelf thing.. and yes- a coping saw- which was ridiculous. I got an F which I improved to a C-. It was 7th grade. LOL

We didn’t have wood shop in school. Being farm kids, I guess they figured we already knew that stuff ;-))

Thats pretty cool that your mom kept it all this time. My father still has the chess board I made for him in shop class in 7th grade. I plan to one of these days make an upgraded one for him since that one split in several places.
