This is a carved keepsake box made from red oak and bubinga, It was really an experiment in colors that I thought turned out really well. The inside is lined with bubinga and crushed velvet on the bottom. Hinges are brass and the finish is shellac. Lots of hand sanding goes into these types of boxes but I love the look it gives the grain so I think it’s worth it. Thanks for looking!

This is a beautifull box.
I love the color of the wood. The grain on the mitters is ligned up perfectly.
Great work.

A very nice box Edward… The wood combination is excellent and your sculpting really adds a nice touch.

another excellent box. I had to keep looking at the photos of the open box to appreciate how the grain of the oak was aligned. It kept throwing my eyes off and I saw the top as skewed, but its not. Great color match. You have more patience than me to do all of that hand sanding! Thanks for sharing. Robert
