this is a cutting board I made some time ago from scraps that I had laying around while waiting for something else.
I just got around to finishing it.
the glueup was far from perfect so I had to trim the edge. this had a nice effect of having a 1 mm layer of white on the sides, which is really cute, IMHO.
Cant even remember the timbers. I think it was rosewood, NZ maple, Jarrah and red beech?
finished with liquid paraffin.

Looks fabulous! Is the surface of the board all end grain? If some of the glue joints are not long to long grain I would be worried about them holding in the long run.

NICE ! You should be proud of it, and the fact that you saved the pieces from the scrap.

rivergirl, it is a very very simple board to make. its beauty comes from the timber. the board is made by gluing together the strips while keeping symmetry, and then crosscutting, turning 90 degrees and flipping every second row. if you need more detailed instructions, PM me.
