Workbench

I built a new studio workbench for a Tail and chain drive vise I just recently ordered through my good brother in California. I was not happy with the end and side mount bench vise on my 2 year old workbench. The end vise was pretty okay but the side mounted one was too small for for what I need it to be. I also built this a foot longer than the old one.
All woods used for this bench are reclaimed as with all of my projects.
The top is stack laminated 2×4 saplungan. The jaw for the chain drive vise is balayong same as with the end cap. The condor tails for the end cap are well supported by two 1/2×6” stainless steel bolts capped with raised ebony caps. The 24” Lie-Nielsen chain vise is perfect when working on my sculpted face drawers. Bench dogs are kamagong (ebony). Legs are 4×4 supa. Bottom stretchers are Ipil and bottom shelf is narra. Tail vise is Benchcrafted. Total weight of the bench is over 250lbs.
Dimensions :
Height 36”
Width 24”
Length 72”
Have a blessed week and Happy Easter!

Great use of salvage materials.

Wish we could find that kind of junk wood around here.

Benji, as usual, a Beautiful piece of art!

... and I didn’t know anything about any of the wood you used… never heard of any of them, except the Ebony. LOL

Very COOL bench!

Thank you for sharing.
