This is a queen size Murphy bed made with the Create-a-Bed kit from Rockler. The instructions come in both written and DVD so if you prefer to see how to do something you can. This is a bit of a challenging project for a beginner but can be done. There is about a 1/2 sheet of extra plywood so if you screw up any of the smaller cuts you have plenty extra!. I finished it off what some trim as it just looked too plane without it. This was a great space saving project.

Looks great and super fit in that room! I am in the midst of building one so this is an encouragement to keep moving forward. Definitely agree that it is challenging but the dvd and instructions are both good and the customer service when I called create-a-bed was great. I’m planning on adding trim and your pictures with and without confirms the added appeal of trim. Thanks for sharing.

Keep at it! It is so worth it in the end. Now I just need to talk someone into painting it for me (I love to build…and hate to paint!).

Thanks for the encouragement. Picking away at the steps. One issue is the size of the parts. Finding space to work on the various aspects has taken over my shop plus a room inside the house. Hopefully I’ll have a project pic to post at some point!

It’s a very nice and practical Murphy Bed and you did a nice job on it. Congratulations and welcome to Lumberjocks.
