A lady who my LJ Bro and I have made things before called the other day in desperation and asked if I build gates? duh. Of couse I said yes and went right over to see her needs. She has had gates before and was never happy with them so we said we would build the best gate we could. The materials for this gate which is 70 inches by 70 inches cost $700. Redwood, 10” tee hinge, 1/2inch by 7 inch lags, stainless steel screws, primer and paint. We west systems all the joints and used the Kreg jig for first time, love it, new smart key double cyiinder dead bolt and smart key lever for locking system. Had to stand on a ladder to bore the lockset holes. Used a door dolly to transport, job was just a few blocks away. The final pictures don’t do it justice because of the paint. The lady was real pleased.

I need to build 2 gates at the moment here at the place I am renting, the land lord said he would pay for materials, I get the satisfaction of a gate that actually works, how do you think he would feel if I spent $700, I am guessing not good. Thanks for all the pic’s it makes copying easier. Great craftsmanship!

Thanks for the comment bigfish_95008. We usualy have to work as cheap as possible to make the people happy, but this time money was not an issue. I wish more people would be this way.
