This is a tall dress cane with a slender handle for a more elegant, tailored dressier appearance. The handle is made of extra fancy Honduran Rosewood Burl which from what I understand is quite rare not only because of the natural phenomenon of burl occurring on a rosewood tree, but also that the wood is not being exported to the USA. This piece of Honduran Rosewood Burl is quite exceptional. It has a consistent and dense pattern with very few voids. I wanted to create a simple shaped handle that would allow the wood to show off as much as possible without over designing the piece and yet I need to make the handle ergonomic and sturdy. The handle is approximately 6” long x 2” high x 1” wide. It is accented with a Brazilian Ebony collar and Padauk shaft. Both of these woods will eventually darken and become more subtle and allow the handle to show off it’s vibrancy in harmony.
The height of the cane is 38.5” tall and can be cut to suit.
