I left off the Blog with this photo:

And ran with it.

I turned the finial from a stick of Ficus. This is finished with Shine Juice (to seal); straight shellac; Rattle can Lacquer.

And did some more wandering.

Happy day after Bach’s birthday. If you’re in or near a city, anywhere in the world where the event is being celebrated, through the weekend, see here.

And, put on your headphones, pr turn your speakers up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKm3H_zweEw

Looks good Mark. Keep wandering. One who does not wander, goes nowhere. Watch that first step.

Turned out real nice, Mark. I really like the color and character of that wood.

Stay dry, my friend.

Nice! Don’t you just love a lathe? I find myself examining every piece of firewood to see if there’s a turning hidden away in it.

Great job, this part of the branch obviously wanted to be an Oriental style lidded vessel. The other part of the branch – the piece you threw away – obviously had other aspirations in the direction of Modern Art/Dr. Seuss. I’m sure if you ponder as you wander your Muse/Mojo will impart the secret design – but first a rescue mission to the trash bin.

I really like the ficus finial.

Take care,
