Project Information
Hello fellow Lumber Jocks.
Been a while since I have posted a new project, however I have been busy in the shop. For awhile I have needed/wanted a tool chest, just couldn't find one that was priced fairly and made to last. Besides I primarily work with wood, and who needs a metal tool box in a wood shop. So I decided I would tackle the task of making my own, with the idea in mind that I could make it to match my workbench I recently completed. The majority of the chest is made from reclaimed plywood from work. (plywood is thrown away daily there…. such a waste). I used red and white oak for the drawer facings. Since I had left over plywood I went ahead and made for my sanders. And then update my R.A.S. station and Band saw carts to match. I now have a matching set…... The two sanding carts on the end have shop vacs built in. I Used Boiled Linseed oil for the finish.
