This collection is built from quarter sawn and rift sawn white oak, stained to the Stickley look and finished in tung oil. The bookcase is assembled with through wedged tenons with the top ones flush, the rest is all mortice and tenon construction. The coffee table top center area is a book matched glue up of quarter sawn oak surrounded by a rift sawn outer and end panels. Other than some work on the band saw and drill press the work was done with hand tools except for the through mortices on the bookcase which were routed using a template. There are actually two matched foot stools. The tables and stools are in our family room and the bookcase is in the kitchen.

Thanks for the kind comment. Wedge tenons have certain challenges. I recommend you visit and check out his how to videos – there is one for mortice and tenons including the wedged variety. There are a selection of short clips which give you insight to his way of doing things.
