the is a gate post for Silver Spring Day Schools entrance gate carved in under 5 min i used the method in my book

That be cool! I would love to try it. Well, I have actually but my chainsaw is way too big for this kind of thing.
I suppose you use a pretty small one?

Jim wizardofwood my hats off to you I was so interested in your project. I gave it a whirl I used my husky 365 with a 2’ bar and tried this project. After 2 tries all I could come up with was cousin it of the adams family or a 8” artillery round for a howitzer and I took a good 7 minutes at that. Nice job you are truley a wizard.
