The swing seat we’ve had for 10 years started to fall apart. My wife commissioned me to replace it. It was the most different project I’ve attempted to date. I decided to curve the seat, which makes it more comfortable, and makes it look better too, I think. I was going to curve the whole back, but just rounded over the top. I wish I had made the frame a little taller, so the swing would move through a longer arc. I did add a cup holder to each armrest, and put the chains outside the armrest, so you can actually use them. My wife is very happy with it!
I saved some of the logs from the old one to practice with on the lathe that I traded a guy for that I haven’t touched yet. Looking forward to that, after I finish my project backlog.
