After seeing the interest in my first puzzle box I had to make another. I had a chunk of wood a friend gave me that he picked up from a neighbor after he cut down a dead tree in his yard. I have no idea what type of wood it is, but I think it’s beautiful. I cut a couple of slabs off it and book matched the pieces. It is made with white oak, cherry an unknown wood and vermillion. I think I’m hooked on puzzles and I can’t wait to make the next one.

That top has a lot of visual interest. I really like what you have done with using the band of it at the top of the bottom, that adds a POW to it. A very nice box, and then the puzzle. Good job.

I’ve made around three dozen different entanglement puzzles, wire, string, piece of wood with holes in it with string and washers. I’m still too new to woodwork to try any of the burr pussles but think I might be able to make one of these.
How many of each size block?
1×1 x ?
1×2 x ?
1×3 x ?
That should be enough info to make the puzzle.

Thanks,

Thanks for the dims and pic. That ought to be enough for me to go on. Bookmarked.
I keep seeing these puzzles posted here and want to try my hand but it always seems there are too many other things in the shop that need doing more.
Much obliged.
