Bank, Veneered

This started out as a tissue box cover but my wife decided she wanted a bank. Body is 1/4” BB plywood covered with Pomelle Sapele veneer; top is 1/4” BB Plywood with Quilted Big Leaf Maple veneer. Bottom panel is screwed in on four edges to allow access. Miter keys are maple.

Hope to get a picture that shows the Quilted Maple figure better later on.

Fun project – first time I had veneered the entire project. I’ve done veneered tops before but it sure takes more time to do the entire body, too!

Great wood combination Jim. I have yet to try using veneer and this inspires me to do just that. Excellent job!

Good looking box Jim. Looking at your projects, it looks like you are getting those boxes figured out.
Excellent.
