This is an old project of mine. About four years ago, a friend gave me a small hobby-grade carving set for Christmas. At the time, we, and our small herd of goats, had just moved to my in-law’s property. My wife and I were joking about naming the barn, and she came up with “Tarp Rock Farm”.

During that summer, I decided to try out the small carving set, and made a sign from basswood. My first attempt at carving. After my daughter showed it off a bit, we came up with some colors, painted, finished, and hung our sign. It’s been over the main gate of the barn ever since.

Good carving, Elroy. That little red, green, and white sign post sure is cute! Kudos on both.

This is a beautiful sign and nicely done.
