What a great gift (heirloom) you have made for your granddaughter. Hopefully your great grandchildren will ride it too.

I hope to have the skill to make one for both my grandchild some day. Did you have plans or are you just very creative? Nice workmenship and I love the colors as well. The the straps is a nice detail. I’m sure it will be around for many years and many grand children.

Absolutely stunning. I need to get my tail out in the shop and get to working on the one that I supposed to be doing for our boys.

Looks great. I hope mine turns out that good.

I used plans purchased at woodcrafters the instructions are not the best I made templates with 1/4 inch plywwod. rough cut on a band saw then used a patern bit on my router table, saved a lot of sanding.

Can you tell me what you used for a finish on the horse ? I’m about to finish a rocking elephant and have some concerns about finish safety materials. I dont want to use something that’s going to be a safety hazard to my grandson. I have in hand Minwax tung oil, and Watco Butcher Block clear finishes. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
