I like to point out that this design and plans were taken from the sorted details blog.

Had fun making this stepping stool, learned how to do a mortise and tenon. To be very careful not to mix the legs when laying out the mortises.

Having only a badly sharpened chisel, a piece of wood as a hammer, no bench, no vice made this project a bit more difficult than it should have been.

”Having only a badly sharpened chisel, a piece of wood as a hammer, no bench, no vice …”

Now that’s what I call a true minimalist! I like it.

Had to start somewhere and find out if I really liked woodworking.
I did so now have some nice, but simple tools.

I don´t really have a workshop. I push my father out of his workshop from time to time.

Looks great! You did well with the tools you had at hand. I also used “The Sorted Details” When I made my Folding Step Stool; it’s around here some place!

edit; Oh….Welcome to Lumberjocks!

PLANS for this Stool….

I have a Plans for the Folding Step Stool in a PDF file with all the measurement. It’s the same Plan as The Sorted Details plans but with much more detail. Here are a few sample print screens of the plans. If you would like a copy go to my home page and send me a PM (private message) with your email address and I’ll send you a full copy of the plans.
Note: There is no way to post a readable copy here.

WOW woodshaver Tony C, I had to calculate all this in my head, this is incredible detailed plans!! I draw all this in paper, took my time and it came all right. But this is excellent technical drawing.
Thank you for your input, I hope that the people that try this type of stepping stool see this!

Thank you Diego! I don’t know why it took me so long to remember I had this Plan. It just hit me after I took a 2nd look at your step stool. I had to dig deep into my files to find it. But I have it for anyone that wants it. Maybe I could send you a copy also Diego! Here is another idea you might like to see. http://lumberjocks.com/projects/69741
