This was my first woodworking project!

I made it of a softwood called Kiri

The cutting board is made from a hardwood called Anchico found in south america.

Hope you like it!

Another fine job, Diego. The kiri looks great. I came across some anchico when I was trying to decide on a South America wood for a recent Prie Dieu build. I ended up using jatoba. Again good work … Kudos!

Thanks Ron, been peeking at your projects and they look incredible.

Anchico is quite common here, but its VERY hard wood, difficult to sand, and much more to plane. So hard that it is perfect for a cutting board. Would not use this wood when you need to have a very nice finish.
