I made the outer frames of the box out of walnut, with the inner panels made out of oak. The legs of the box suspend it in the air so that the bottom section can freely rotate to access the nine drawers. On the top of the box has five individual pieces that peel away so that you can pull out the three trays.

Great piece Snig. I’m not sure if I would open it, pet it… or stand back in case it was about to take off. I’m into intricate compartments and details and this piece sure fits that bill. Wonderful work!

Now that you built it, she’ll want you to buy stuff to fill it up! ;-)

If I build a jewelery box, it’s going to have maybe 2 drawers!?? Nice job btw….

Very unique. From the front it appears to be a large insect. Nice job, though, even if a bit off the wall. Must have taken some work to get all of those hinges aligned and installed!

Great design, a prize winner!

What size is it?

What time was devoted to the (1) design and (2) making?
