Cherry base with a pine top and drawer sides.

Garnet Shellac and General Finishes Satin Wax finish.

Little gift for my girlfriend. I had a really good time making this piece. The dovetails slots for the legs were handcut along with the rest of the dovetails. The drawers are accessible from both sides and the slide on a rabbet cut in the three piece cleat. The only thing I would change if I were to make another one is that I would increase the diameter of the spindle by an inch at least. The thin spindle has a tiny bit of wiggle if the table gets bumped. Overall though, I’m tickled with it—hopefully she is too.

Good work. Fine looking sewing table. From the photo the sliding dovetails at the legs look good and tight. Does the top swivel or is it fixed? Kudos.

Some interesting choices and it looks crisp and well made.
