I’ve never been into jewelry making or wearing… but when planing some Mango a while back, I was stuck by the beauty of the shavings and got the hair brained idea to make a laminated ring out of them. I literally stopped mid project and started making the ring. (The ADD runs strong in this one.)

I built the layers one shaving at a time, fusing them together with CA glue. I liked the result.

A few days later my son thought it might be fun to use the same approach of building layers with CA glue to try it with cat hair. So we tried that and were both really surprised at how well it turned out.

Then with Valentine’s day fast approaching, he wanted to try to make ring from CA glued rose petals to give to his mom. So we gave that a shot. My wife seems happy with the results.

The cat hair and rose petal rings started with a black paper and CA glue core for strength. The Mango ring didn’t seem to need a core.

Thanks Mafe. The rings were kind of fun to make. Oddly I have the urge to make a few more.
