Oh no, you’ve done it now. They’re only slightly less addictive than cutting boards. Nice first box, keep it up.

Like Martyn said, you are now a member of the involuntary box-making club. Once you’ve started, you just can’t help yourself.

Compared to this, my first box looked like it was built by a caveman with no tools.

Hey don’t knock it, Charlie. I was once a caveman with no tools. Now I have tools and my cave is called a ‘shop’.

Rick,
There’s no hope for you now. Both Martyn and Charlie are offering you encouragement.

Keep making boxes.

Sweet. Looks like you have mastered quite a few techniques on that one.
It will be nice to see more as you make them.

Welcome to LJs,
Steve

Very nice. I like the contrasting timbers and I like the fact that you left some sapwood in the top. Sapwood can really add to a project if done correctly.

Very nice. If that is your first box I would put a # on the bottom of the box. Start with your birthday (example) If your birthday is 5/16/75 your first # would be #51675 the second would be #51676. Thats how I do It. Great job.

Great first box! Nice job on the mitered corners and the keys. Like everyone has said, now your hooked. Boxes are an addiction… the more you make, the more you want to make. I have them all over the house – luckily my sweetie likes them (she’s the one who wants them displayed!).
