This is a bookend? A part of a box? Part of a drawer? No!

It is simply a poplar greeting card for our 5th anniversary.

This year, before we realized how little money was left, I signed up for a class on handcutting dovetails. There in Berea, KY, I began to learn the value of sharp tools. When I came home and practiced the technique, I saw much improvement, but also felt the inadequacy of the blunt edged chisels. Thus the chunky dovetails with wedges sanded in.

But Stephanie loved her card and put it up on the shelf. There is such satisfaction in handcutting joints and in giving your work away. The flower designed were copied by eye after a few google image searches.

Sweet idea to celebrate your 5th. I used to run the hills up there in Berea, East Pinnacle and the such. I love that area… and the college there is one of a kind. Good work with the card!

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)
