Box Usurper - adjustable board game shelving

There was a successful kickstarter called BoxThrone, which is a modular/adjustable board-game specific storage system. Unfortunately, its metal/wire shelving and looks kinda janky.

The idea is bookcases are bad because if you store games vertically stuff falls out, or if you store things horizontally you have to stack things on top of each other, and its always the game on the bottom you want.

Anyway, I looked at box throne and set about making a wooden version of it, but the modular element of it just kept coming back to being ugly. So I settled and made a “double bay”, adjustable shelf version, using sawteeth adjustment thingies rather than shelf pins.

Pictures are of the final product only, I have a video on the build process

Paul,

I really enjoyed the video. Well executed build. Keep rocking it! Also, do you have a video on your fence on the axial glide saw? I’ve been wanting to do that to mine for a long time but have been too lazy to research it haha.

Respectfully,

Matt

Nice! I liked your explanation/process for building the shelf adjusters. The cat bite was funny too ;)

Great looking and practical system. I might stole this idea sometimes.

I wish I could ‘script’ his interaction rather than just being randomly bitten when I don’t pay him enough attention :|

As in the auxillary fence or the long fence? I’m “just” using Kregs track system https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4_LPYnVLWg

You could absolutely substitute in T-track and a DIY stopblock though.

If you could script it, he wouldn’t be a cat, would he?

btw, where are the train games?

The wife has Ticket to Ride on her phone, tablet and Steam! Friends have the actual board game, so haven’t had the “need” to pick it up for ourselves yet ;)
