Bottle opener

Idea and process copied from a Shopbuilt video, which I found on LJ. Couldn’t quite get the front of it to look how I wanted, but it was fun to try anyways. Totally different than anything I’ve done before, maybe more like carving. Amusing way to kill a few hours.

Cherry and maple, finished with danish oil.

Interesting! I posted a bottle opener a while back based on a design from Nick Offerman’s book. It uses a nail to catch the lip of the bottle cap. It didn’t occur to me that I could just catch the cap on a piece of wood.

Definitely unique and kind of cool looking.

Its a bit hard to see in the picture but there’s a washer on the bottom the catches the bottle cap. I like the nail on yours because its more subtle / hidden.

Have your say...
