here are 3 stools inspired by my daughters purpleheart highchair, made out of three different kinds of wood (scraps). mahogany, red oak and poplar, with wenge on all three. this is a great way to learn how different woods act with your tools. from cutting, routing, gluing, sanding and finishing… they all acted differently!

Thanks Larry! the poplar stool is my favorite. that is usually a paint grade wood, not many people leave it natural!

Those are cool. Looks like you had fun playing with them.
Stools always seem to come in handy.

Love the stools Tomakazi…very creative with the individual scraps of wood. That dark inset piece on the top of each one ties everything together. Beautiful work. Ellen

these are great!!! I love your comment on one project—-done 3 times with differing woods would teach you a lot about your tools and the wood…
I have been promising a chair for a friend for a couple years—-have started and torn various designs apart several times…since he and I are both teachers a stool is really practical—-but with the laminated seat and beautiful shaping I think this would be a nice project…let me know if its not okay to steal (share) this design…I at least want to put it in my favorites and my idea chamber…
