We can tell you turned it on a lathe but I think Walnutty was wondering the process to get it that way. How did you get the edges to weep over and what was the finish you used? Other than that, your piece looks good. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry Walnutty and Wheelin
First I mounted a waste block on the screw chuck. You could also use a small face plate, Hand placement is very important here, because each revolution of the block is four corners that are itching’ to come in contact with you fingers!
A square turning is as beautiful to view as it is rewarding to complete.
Very carefully turn the shape that I wanted. I finished it with walnut oil.

Ok I got ya but the one thing that I dont understand is how did you get the sides to droop to the table?

You have to shape bowl from the bottom side and remove the meat under sides to the point where the solid part of the ring is all the way round the bowl. then you have shape the top of the sides that droop as you say to the point where you get the profile you want. You can see some videos on YOUTube. Search for turning square bowl. I hope this helps you to understand steps.
