I thought this might be a good way to introduce myself as a new member of this forum. I’m looking forward to participating in all of the discussions and learning from the resident experts (there appears to be a number of them!)

On to the project recently completed. It’s a bench constructed primarily from cherry with fiddle back maple end panels. The lines of the small bench (about 32” in length and 16” in height) have an asian look. The project combines a number of construction techniques including panel glue up for the top, frame and panel for the ends, mortice/tenon joinery, and several tapered cuts. The finish is Deft oil over a wash coat of Seal Cote Shellac.

That’s my kind of project: Love maple and cherry and that asian-inspired look is my favorite. Definitely saving your photos to my collection.
