My daughter and I just got done making her first boxcar. She did some cutting, drawing, coloring, stickering, sanding, and finishing! I think the sanding was pretty boring for her, which means she will make a good woodworker! She is quite pleased with the results of her hard work. We have greased the axle a bit and hope that Flamin’ Thunder will roar down the track!

My daughter is an Explorer in The American Heritage Girls, troop 1300. AHG is like Girl’s Scouts, only with more conservative and Christian values.

Thanks, Tony! My daughter had fun making it and was really excited when I told her I would post it on my Lumberjocks page. She will enjoy seeing your comment!

By the way, best wishes for the Boxswap!

Brings back good memories from year past. I have helped my son make a few Pinewood Derby Cars for the Cub Scouts. These are the times that you will remember, savor every moment.

She did a great job on her car. I bet it was wonderful working with your Daughter on this. Congrats to you and her on top three!

Looks like a fast one :^)

This is a very nice project especially since it’s her first one. Congratulations.

Thanks Jeff! She will be tickled pink to see how much attention her project got. She is currently on a trip to Florida with her mom and some grandparents. When she gets home she will be in for a nice surprise!
