I made this in my woods class. I used a router for the edges and handles. I used 7 coats of mineral oil for the finish. I used walnut and white birch for the types of wood.
It's great to see the next generation learning the skills needed for wood working. I 've been enjoying wood working since I was in the 7th grade and took my first Industrial arts Class (wood Class). I am retired now and build something about every day. I have made a few cutting boards and the one you made looks great. The great thing about end-grain boards is the knife doesn't cut up the board because the end-grain hides the knife marks. I look forward to see future post of your work.
