It’s been around 18 months since I joined LJ, so I figured it’s about time I posted something!! It’s funny how the years pass – I haven’t done any woodturning since HS (25 years ago) and out of the blue I decided to get back into it last month. Been having a ball every since!!

This potpourri bowl was made for my folks. It’s around 5” x 2” and is made from Lancewood. It’s the first time that I’ve worked with Lancewood, and apart from all the knots that give character to this piece, it was great to work with. The bowl is sanded to 800g and is finished with:
- 1 coat of Shellawax Glow
- 1 coat of U-Beaut EEE
- 2 coats U-Beaut Wax

Accompanying the bowl in the last picture is a Cigar Pencil that I finished this weekend. The wood is York Gum Burl (from the Western Australia gold fields). It’s finished with BLO/CA.

Comments/critiques/advice is always welcome.
