Bowl attempts

I thought I’d like to start making gifts for the family and decided to make some bowls. Reading through a bunch of articles on using a router (because I have no lathe), I bought a few blanks and started my journey. I realized I really need a store closer to my house that’s dedicated to woodworking. Home Depot really doesn’t carry a whole lot of options to work with. I’ve decided to save up some money and buy a lathe. My arms and shoulders are absolutely exhausted from sanding. That’s all I can say about that.

pretty nice for not having a lathe….will be a world of difference once you get one. but always keep in mind…that the lathe is just the beginning of the purchases…then you need tools, chucks and all the other goodies that come along with it. Very nice job though again for not having a lathe…

You say these are attempts? So sorry to disagree with you, I think you succeeded admirably! I do not think I would have done as nice without a lathe. You are to be commended for a very fine job. I think that once you get your lathe you will be doing fantastic!

Very nice looking bowls. They look every bit as good as some I’ve seen come off a lathe. Good work.

Have your say...
