This is a plaque I have made for a customer.
What is a recommended varnish to use?
Oil? Poly?
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

well on furniture i use it because it lets the natural beauty of the wood come through, and you can feel the wood and not a slick shiny plastic coating.most of your fine furniture makers prefer it for the same reason.but it a preference.if this plaque is meant for indoors oil is fine.you could do just about any finish really, just depends on the look you want.
