Basic Folding Outfeed Table

I built this folding outfeed table out of scrap OSB, 2x material, and some old door hinges. My goal was to just have a folding outfeed table for larger sheets of plywood and long stock, as well as to serve as an extra assembly area so that I can finally start working on more than one project at a time. This also frees up my workbench (which previously doubled as an outfeed table) to be used as a workbench and my table saw to be used as a table saw! Previously I would have to move glue ups from the bench if I needed to make a few more cuts, this was awkward and only made more obstacles for me to walk around.

The design is basic and I made it in a couple of hours on the fly going off of my thoughts alone. I essentially reinforced the 1/2” OSB with 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” strips as a frame and cross bracing. Matched the thickness of my small outfeed table, attached the hinges and them made some legs that I just stick in the corners whenever I unfold the table. I did not see the need of complicating the build further with hinged legs or anything like that. I then finished it off a few coats of Shellac to try and ensure a smoother surface. So far I have had no issues with stock catching on the OSB.

I originally planned to hook it to the base of the Saw when the table is folded down, but it naturally hangs out of the way, so I saw no need for that.

Thank you, Rick. Now I just need to build a mobile base for the saw, that is my next upgrade for the shop…oh…and a box joint jig to use for the box swap this year. Man…I need to get busy!
