This project is a Jewelery tree.
When my client asked me to make a jewelery tree I had no real idea what they were, it turns out they are
for hanging rings, necklaces, and other jewelery.
So I checked the internet for examples, I found many examples from metal and a few wooden ones.
Most were very stylized and did not really look like trees.
I decided I wanted this one to look more like a proper tree.
I started by just cutting a piece of walnut to form the trunk and main branch.
Then I just free styled the rest of it by cutting small pieces and shaping them with a chisel and some sandpaper.
Each branch was stuck on with mitre-mate superglue and activator, just so it set really quick as I held it in place.
Once all the branches were positioned it was a lot of sanding and a bit more shaping with the chisel.
I think I could have done a better job if I had some carving chisels like Flexcut or something, I may buy some if funds allow.
I cut a round base from contrasting wood and rounded the edge with a router.
Finish is Osmo hardwax floor oil.
This was a fun project to do so I might make some more.
ps. sorry for poor photo`s

This is very interesting. I really like the look. This would be a great project for one of the scroll saw magazines. Even though it looks fairly straight forward, I’d buy an issue just for this project.
